Clients send Packet 0xC2 to the server to set up their parameters for choice search. Clients send Packet 0xC3 to the server to actually perform a Choice Search.

Dreamcast Packet Format

Bytes Meaning
0x00 Packet Type (0xC2 or 0xC3)
0x01 Flags (Number of Entries)
0x02-0x03 Packet Size (Variable)
0x04 Disable self from Choice Search results (if set to 1 -- Packet 0xC2 only)
0x05-0x07 Padding (all zeroes)
0x08... Choice settings (see below for format)


Choice Setting Format

Each entry in the choice settings is formatted as follows:

0x00-0x03 Menu ID
0x04-0x07 Item ID
