This policy notice is in place to inform you of the information we collect from you when you create an account on the Sylverant PSO Server or access the website for the server.

Who are we?
The Sylverant PSO Server (collectively “we”, “us”, or “Sylverant”), is a platform for playing the Phantasy Star Online series of games with other users from around the globe. Sylverant is not a corporation or any other legal entity.

The website for the Sylverant PSO Server is hosted at https://sylverant.net/.

How this policy applies
This Policy describes the information we collect from you and how we use that information. It also covers whether and how that information may be shared with others and your rights regarding the information you provide to us.

By using the Sylverant PSO Server and/or registering for an account on this website, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and acknowledge this privacy policy, along with any terms of use that are spelled out on the site. Further, you acknowledge that your interactions with the game server are bound by the server rules as they are posted on this website. These rules and this privacy policy may be periodically updated.

Please note that this policy only specifically applies to the Iselia and Altimira ships of the Sylverant PSO Server. Any other ships are operated by third parties which may have their own policies regarding your data. Please contact the administration of these other servers for their individual policies.

What we collect
Information that you voluntarily provide us by signing up for an account on and/or using the server:

• Your e-mail address and login details (including username and password).
• Serial numbers and access keys of your copy or copies of PSO (all versions except PSO Episodes I & II for Xbox and PSO Blue Burst).
• Your Xbox live Gamertag and internal user identifier (PSO Episodes I & II for Xbox only).
• Communications you send to other users through the various features of the game and website, including textual messages and simple mails.
• Any other information you choose to send us.

You may decline to provide us with the information above, however doing so may limit your ability to use the Sylverant PSO Server.

You may review or remove your account information through the account management system on this website.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Information that is collected automatically:

• Information about your computer and about your visits to and use of this website. This includes your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referral source, page views, and website navigation.
• Information about your computer and about your connections to the game server. This includes your IP address and all other information transmitted by the Phantasy Star Online game client to the server as a part of playing the game.

The Phantasy Star Online game client requires a serial number and access key that is associated with your individual copy of the game on most platforms. In order to play Phantasy Star Online on this (or any other server), this data is required to establish a proper connection to the server. There is no way to play Phantasy Star Online without sharing your game’s serial number and access key on most platforms (exceptions are noted below along with the substitute data that is required).

Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II for the Xbox requires the use of an Xbox Live gamertag and an internal Xbox identifier that is associated with your client. In order to play PSO for the Xbox on this (or any other server), this data is required to establish a proper connection to the server. There is no way to play Phantasy Star Online for the Xbox without sharing this information with the server.

Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

If you log into the Sylverant PSO Server account management system, a cookie will be stored on your browser for the lifetime of your browser session containing an ID used to identify that you have logged in on the server. If you use the “Remember Me” feature on the login page, a cookie will be stored for one month to save your session ID. This cookie will be refreshed each time you load a page in the account management system (for one month from the time the page load occurs). Logging out will also expire this cookie.

Why do we collect this information?
Information collected as part of the signup process for an account is used in the administration of your account and to ensure that only you may access your account.

Information collected automatically is collected to ensure the proper operation of this website and of the server itself.

What do we do with your information?
Our services are hosted in the United States by DigitalOcean, LLC. This is where all of the data associated with the server and your use of it is stored.

Your serial number and access key, as well as communications to the server may be shared with third parties if you connect to a ship in-game other than Iselia or Altimira. We will not share your e-mail address, IP address, or any other personal account details from your use of the game server with any third parties unless required to do so by law. However, nothing in this prevents you from sharing such information as you please during your use of the server, noting that such action is not covered by this policy as it is an action undertaken by you.

Your actions on the website may involve data sharing with third parties as noted in the section of this document entitled “Who do we share website data with?”.

Your public information (including your username and various statistics and data about your use of the game server) may be displayed on the Sylverant web site (for instance in leaderboards for in-game events). If you do not wish to have your username (or display name if you have set it) displayed in the leaderboard for in-game events, please do not participate in such events. These events are completely optional, and your participation in them indicates your acceptance that your username (or display name) and statistics may be displayed publicly both during the event and thereafter.

Who do we share website data with?
The Sylverant PSO Server does not sell any user data from this site or the server to any 3rd party for marketing purposes.

If you leave a comment on the Sylverant web site, information such as your IP address, user agent string, referrer, this site’s URL, the name you specify, the email address you specify, and your comment itself will be shared with Akismet for spam prevention purposes. If you do not agree to share this data with Akismet, do not comment on any posts on this website.

To sign up for an account in the account management system, your information will be shared with Google Inc. and the reCAPTCHA service. The Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply. Please take note of any marketing related terms in Google’s policies before signing up for an account on the server.

Retention and Data Export
As long as you continue to use the Sylverant PSO Server and for as long as your account is active, we will retain your data. You may request that your account be deleted in the account settings menu on this website, which will purge the information associated with your account from the server.

You may request a copy of the information that is stored by the game server for your account by contacting the server’s administration.
